Festo Smart Factory Monitoring
Research into better monitoring of Festo’s cyber-physical system.
Concept illustration
In practice
Track pallet positions using existing CPS data.
Extract and analyse CPS data to track parameters and pallet positions.
- The task
- A cyber-physical production system contains signals that are not necessarily presented as directly usable monitoring information.
- My contribution
- I co-authored a study of extracting and analysing CPS data, combining resource IDs, part numbers, and proximity sensor information for pallet tracking.
- The result
- The study computes previously unquantified variables to improve monitoring and identifies further research opportunities. The full methodology and results are in the publication.
Capabilities
- Study of Industry 4.0 principles using Festo’s cyber-physical system.
- Resource IDs, part numbers, and proximity sensor data support pallet tracking.
- Previously unquantified variables are computed to improve monitoring.
